Up for Sale.

We moored on the straight opposite the Sale Cruising Club moorings. Beyond Sale Bridge the Kings Ransom seemed to be a popular canal-side pub. Just behind it in the photo is the busy Metro Station which takes passengers up to Manchester. The whole area has been imaginatively developed and the town centre was buzzing with shoppers.

From our mooring we could take a short cut through the churchyard to the shopping centre. This lovely carving of Saint Paul was created from a tree trunk only last year. The Town Hall was busy with weddings during our stay and we also saw a white hearse being drawn by two handsome white horses. We enjoyed our stay here very much even though it was rather noisy with the Metro Trains running alongside the canal and the church clock chiming every quarter.
