We pootled down to Thrupp wide, turned to fill with water, then we were soon on our way up the River Cherwell.
Once we had risen up in Bakers lock the Cabin Boy tried adjusting the front fenders.
By the time we had got to Pigeons Lock we were pushing a bunch of reeds on the bow. There were no boats on the move today and only one gongoozler, a bored looking Boxer dog. Luckily we were able to clear the prop with gently applying forward and reverse whilst poking stuff out from underneath. We left a pile of crud on the lockside that we retrieved from the weir and our bow too. There were some posh new Dove residences at Mill Farm up on the bank as we emerged from the lock. By the time we got to Northbrook Lock we’d had enough for one day and moored up for the night.

Glad you had luck clearing the prop, we had a devil of a job with all the reeds especially exiting the locks.
I think the swim on NP is no good for the stuff, plus we got some of that netting stuff round there at one point!
The picture of Bottle over the lock gate sent a flood of memories of you towing me off the thing at Wolvercote lock!
Northbrook is the place to stay
I am glad we moved away from there before the gales began as those tall ivy clad trees leaning over the canal looked ominous.
