We left Rugeley as we needed to fill up with water, and who should we see already filling up, but nb Peruvian Skies. It was lovely to chat to Dick and Nettie as we hadn’t seen them for ages.
En route we passed Rugeley Power station which is run on imported coal since the nearby colliery closed down. This impressive blue glass tower has ‘Chaseregen plc printed on the top. With the tank full of water we did a short cruise along to moor right outside Hawksyard which was formerly called Spode Hall. On my afternoon amble about in search of firewood I saw that the Community Payback gang were busy clearing the area along the Armitage Tunnel and painting the vast amount of metal railings through it and all around it.
