Having moored up behind nb Inca we made our way along the Oxford Canal Arm towards the city. There are lots of permanent moored boats along here and on seeing Hamish this cat squeezed through a porthole and viewed him from a safe vantage place inside. We made our way to the Castle Mound and walked up the winding little path to the top.
There were wonderful views all around from here. We could see people at the top of Cabot Tower viewing us. Near the top there were stone steps leading down into a well 54 feet deep which was the fresh water supply for the occupants of the tower around the 13 century. Carolyn and I went on to peruse the shops while the boys returned to the boats.
