Carolyn and I walked forward to set Newbury Lock and the boys followed on slightly later under Town Bridge. This was because there were two water inlets with strong currents coming in below the lock. There were a couple of interesting plaques on the lock side.
Next was a swing bridge in the West mills area, it was so slow, so we had time to admire the unusual buildings surrounding it.
The boat on the right had a grassy roof covering, we may stay here on our return as it is a much quieter spot.
