On to moor at Welford Jnct for one night, then down to Norton Jnct for the weekend with an excellent Sunday roast at the New Inn followed by the dentist on Monday. Next day we set off early through Braunston Tunnel with no oncoming boats, hurrah! We passed ‘Hasty’ and ‘Beeston’ as we descended the locks down to pause at the Stop House for water and cake supplies from Gongoozlers rest. Himself had a shower while we filled the tank, then it was onwards to moor outside the Boat Inn. Caught the No 12 bus to get a few victuals at Sainsbury’s and got soaking wet getting to the bus stop to go back. Once back at Oakfield dry clothes and hairdryer came out, then into the pub for lunch. Afterwards we went on down to moor with several other boats at popular countryside moorings by Bridge 100. On my afternoon walkabout I helped a lady moor up, then went on to chat to the crew of nb Idunno with their Cockerpoo called Biscuit. Don’t think we have had such an action packed day like this for ages, phew!
