We spent our last day by Llanthony Bridge and saw this lovely yacht ‘Chula’ from the Isle of Man pass under the two bridges.
Having visited the services there, we set of early under beautiful blue skies towards Gloucester Lock.
Quite a few boats were awaiting attention outside Tommi Nielsen's Dry-docks.
The big ‘bathtub boat’ Edward Elgar had loaded with passengers and pulled out, so we hovered in the basin to let them go first.
It just about fills the large river lock and the road bridge has to be raised to let him through onto the Severn. The Lock Warehouse is being transformed from Antique Centre into luxury apartments. It is rather a shame that the docks are now almost entirely turned over to residential use. Anyway, the many visiting narrow-boats continue to attract plenty of gongoozlers on fine days.
It took sometime for the lock to be made ready for us, then we were off up the Severn with our lifejackets on and anchor at the ready.
