Boat Visit.

We visited Fernwood today for an update and confirmation of some decisions and to see how far they have got.

Well the bathroom is lined and the galley units are in place, the engine room has been started, I hope all the cables are identified correctly, spaghetti comes to mind.

A few photo's, taken by Wozie.

Note to Del and Al (Derwent6) it will be August for launch, no need to 'told you so' :-)

Nowt about the boat.

We had a wonderful weekend, a double sixtieth on Saturday, (not ours) where we met some old friends, well when I say old I do not mean in their age but we have known them for some time.

We then went to a 'mini banter' on Sunday and met some different ones, not only different people but different in their outlook on the world and their way of life.

Variety is the spice of life, is an old cliché but it is so true.

Another place that has great variety is Canal World Discussion Forum have a look around and if you want to register, you will be most welcome.

If you have time and want to converse with other boaters, pop over.

Things are Happening...........Honest.

We visited Fernwood today and we now have calorifier, some pipe work, the start of the bed and some galley bases.

There is also a floor, some wall panels and the position of the shower.

We spent most of the time redesigning the saloon, my ideas when mocked up, were obviously wrong. You live and learn.

That is one of the many reasons to pick Fernwood, you can have what you want but with their experience, you get steered gently to the sensible solution.

There is no pressure, you can still insist on your way but as one previous owner has admitted, Fernwood's way was better and is now having it changed.

Quick Update

We visited Fernwood today, lots of discussions as always.

No photo's, the boat does not look much different except some of the outside has been painted.

It is obvious that a lot of work has taken place but a lot of it is hidden.

Oh, The Frustrations

First of all an apology for not posting any news.

So much has been happening but not to the boat, since last posting.

Our builders went on holiday for two weeks to China, only the bosses not the workers.
On their return they had had their house burgled, not a pleasant end to a holiday.

They have had some problems with boats already finished and on the water, all to do with equipment supplied by others, it is so frustrating that equipment is sometimes not able to work correctly, when taken out of the box.

We are waiting for our daughters house sale to complete, living there at the moment so will have to live elsewhere, our daughter is due to have her baby next Sunday (expect that will be late as well).

The dog had a CVA (stroke) two weeks ago but is on the mend, thanks to the vet and some drugs.

The bank rate is expected to drop, so less spending money.

Other than that all is well and we are happy to be together.
